General Membership Meeting Minutes
October 22, 2009

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm with 63 members present.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read and accepted.
The treasurer’s report was suspended via a motion.
All officers were present.

Recognition of new members –

There was 1 new member sworn in.

 Reports of accidents sickness and death –

It was reported that

  • Dave Gilbertson passed away.
  • Donny Klickner retired member passed away.
  • Barry Maus is off work.

Presidents Report –

 The presidents Grievance summary is as follows – 

  • Foreman working overtime heard 10/14
  • Insubordination, Grievance scheduling, and overtime all scheduled for 10/23.

 Arbitration summary – 

  • 2 day DLO scheduled 10/22 rescheduled to Dec. 16th.Working out of classification (Pay) scheduled Jan. 25th.Pay issue (working out of classification) heard 6/11. January 12th.Payroll issues heard 5/01/09 submitted.Written warning (safety) scheduled December 11.
  • Unit clarification being filed with MERC. IUOE HVAC. Pretrial conference Oct.8th.

  Other Business under the president’s report –

  • Plant-op meeting at October Steward meeting. Plant reorganization discussions, Pfizer status, Sick-time.  Open enrollment October 26 – November 6. Look at LTD coverage and consider FSA.Forms on website. (Sick and Vacation sell-back, Transfer, Flex time request.)Steward elections should be complete. Nomination for officers next September.Big Buck contest.
  • November and December meeting dates are on the third Thursday of the month.

Committee reports –

  • OT committee working on overtime program. Close to completion. Meeting on Monday.

Unfinished Business­ -

  • There was a motion for a hockey outing on Feb. the 13 Saturday Looking for a $2800.00 donation from the union.  Block of tickets all together. The motion was seconded and the motion passed.

 New Business –

  • December Christmas party motion there was a motion to forego any regular business and have a party in place of regular business. Only urgent business will be discussed. The motion was seconded and the motion passed.
  • Motion to raffle off the presidents old laptop .proceeds to go to the scholarship committee. The motion was seconded and the motion passed.

Good of the union –

The jacket drawing was held and number 192 Dennis Hartman wasn’t present so $20.00 more goes into the pocket. Ken thanked the stewards for their commitment and hard work.
